What Caroline can help with
In her work Caroline has supported people facing a broad range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, low self-esteem, OCD, perinatal-related difficulties, emotional dysregulation, anger, stress, loss and bereavement, relationship difficulties, sleep problems, phobias, panic attacks, experiences of psychosis and adjustment to long-term health conditions, among other difficulties.
Training
Caroline’s training as a Clinical Psychologist is diverse and her practice is firmly grounded in current evidence-based theory, research, and best-practice guidance. Caroline trained at University College London (UCL) and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London.
Approach
Caroline works using a range of therapeutic approaches and she tailors therapy to each individual’s needs, goals, and circumstances. The approaches she most commonly draws on include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Narrative Therapy and Systemic Therapy.
Caroline is particularly interested and experienced in working with individuals with lived experience of trauma. Additionally, alongside her clinical training, her academic background has shaped her interest in the influence of culture, society, and personal history on mental health and wellbeing.
Creating a safe, trusting, and supportive therapeutic space is at the heart of Caroline’s work. She places great importance on offering a nuanced approach, recognising the whole unique person within their wider social and cultural context. This allows her to collaboratively develop a holistic and bespoke treatment plan with her clients, supporting them in making sense of patterns and experiences that may be contributing to current difficulties. A collaborative approach gives the chance to explore and reflect on experiences with compassion and understanding, and to move towards meaningful and achievable goals at her clients’ own pace.
Referrals
Caroline welcomes both self-referrals and referrals from professionals. Privately funded clients and clients covered by private medical insurance companies are accepted.
Fees
Fees will be discussed and agreed with you at the outset. Depending on the intervention, sessions are charged at around £110 per session. 48 hours’ notice is required for cancelled appointments.
Supervision
Caroline can also offer supervision to other psychological professionals, including those who are BABCP accredited therapists.
